With limited time, it’s a great way to see a bit of everything and everyone in one stop, as once again Adelaide hosts Fringe Improvisers, Theatre Companies and Comedians, from throughout the known universe, in a TheatreSportsesque battle of epic proportions.
This high energy fusion of theatre and stand-up comedy requires teams to use audience suggestions to create totally improvised sketches on the spot as seen in ‘Who’s Line Is It Anyway’ eg a team performs a 30 second scene in an audience suggested location (abattoir), then repeats that scene 3 times as a Western, a Ballet and Film Noir. The audience scores the scenes along with the official judges, to see who ends up on top. The ‘winners’ get to perform their entire Fringe show ‘In-a-Minute’, then star in a “Thank God You’re Here” style scene to finish off the night.

Impro NOW! has been the hub of TheatreSports™ and Improvisation in South Australia for the past 5 years, holding the only International TheatreSports Institute license for SA. They boast sell out seasons in Fringe 2004 & 2006 with both Clash of the Theatre Titans and TheatreSports™, being the first show to sell out Higher Ground (280) at the Fringe Club.
